LOLLEY JOINS THE TERRIERS

Kidderminster attacker joins

Huddersfield Town has today completed the signing of Joe Lolley from Skrill Premier club Kidderminster Harriers for an undisclosed fee.

The 21 year-old has signed a contract until the summer of 2016, with the Club having an option on a further year, and will join his new teammates at Town’s Canalside training ground for the first time on Thursday.

A right-sided attacker, Joe has netted 11 goals in 19 starts and a further six substitute appearances during his debut season with Kidderminster, including a hat-trick in their 3-0 home win over Salisbury City on Saturday.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins welcomed Joe to the Club:

“There has been a lot of speculation about this deal in recent days and so we’re delighted to add Joe to our squad at last. He’s a promising talent and was highly sought-after, so it is testament to the Club that he has chosen to come to Huddersfield Town.

“Joe can play off the right side of the attack or through the centre as he possesses good pace and ability on the ball, but most importantly he has an eye for goal, as his extraordinary goalscoring record in the lower echelons of English football shows.

“We will be working with Joe as he adapts to the rigours of Championship football and that will take a little time, but we believe we have a very exciting player on our hands. It is really important that while Joe can get better and better, he has the ability to make an impact immediately.

“Joe’s acquisition fits perfectly with the Club’s clear ethos of bringing in talented, young, hungry players with lots of long term development in them.”

A relative latecomer to professional football, Redditch-born Joe was at Birmingham City’s Academy until the age of 16. He subsequently joined Bromsgrove, but it was at Midland Combination side Littleton where he made waves – netting an amazing 88 goals in just 83 games.

Joe combined his senior playing career at Littleton with his studies, reading a Sports Coaching degree at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

It was through University football that his link to Kidderminster was formed. He spent the summer of 2013 representing England and Great Britain at the World University Summer Games in Russia, reaching the final before defeat to Russia. On the GB University coaching staff was former Cheltenham striker Steve Guinan, who also coached for the Harriers.

After a promising two week trial in the summer of 2013, which included a hat-trick on his debut against Chasetown, Joe signed a one year contract with a further year’s option at Kidderminster.

His form this season has alerted a host of Championship clubs and heightened media interest.

Joe will take the number 18 shirt at Huddersfield Town and is available for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship game at QPR.
