Midfielder’s loan at Tranmere ends
Midfielder Chris Atkinson has today returned to Huddersfield Town following the expiration of his half-season loan at Sky Bet League 1 side Tranmere Rovers.
The 21 year-old Academy graduate joined Tranmere on a ‘window to window’ loan in July and subsequently made 28 starts in all competitions for Ronnie Moore’s side, scoring three goals.
This latest loan spell, supplementing previous time on loan at Darlington and Chesterfield, has taken Chris’ tally of career appearances to 72; 13 of which have come for the Terriers.
Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:
“Chris’ loan at Tranmere was another progression for him; after gaining experience of Conference and League 2 football at Darlington and Chesterfield respectively, he has now got a good number of games under his belt at League 1 level.
“We’ve closely monitored Chris during his latest loan and we’ll now sit down with the technical staff and make a decision on what is best for his continued development.”
Chris is ineligible for Saturday’s FA Cup with Budweiser fixture at Grimsby Town as he has already appeared in the competition for Tranmere this season.
