Robins and Fletcher at Saturday’s Q&A

Ian Robins and Peter Fletcher will be the special guests at the next pre-match question and answer session at PPG Canalside ahead of the game against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The duo were part of Mick Buxton’s record breaking promotion winning side during the 1979/80 season.

Striker Robins made 186 appearances for the Terriers between 1978 and 1982, scoring a total of 67 goals. Robins was also voted into the 1979/80 Football League Fourth Division PFA Team of the Year, eventually retiring at the end of the 1981/82 season to open a newsagent in Wigan.

Fletcher was Robins’ strike partner during the same period, scoring 45 goals in 115 games. Fletcher and Robins were the top scorers in the team that scored a club record of 101 goals for the season during the 1979/80 promotion season. Fletcher had previously played for Manchester United, Hull City and Stockport County.

The Terriers pair will answer questions from 12.15pm in the Radcliffe Suite at PPG Canalside.

The question and answer session – hosted by Town’s match day announcer Paul Ramsden – will last for one hour and is free for members and £2 for non-members on the door.
