IRISH CALL FOR TOWN DUO

Norwood & Paterson in squad for Cyprus friendly

Huddersfield Town’s Oliver Norwood and Martin Paterson have been called up to the 22 man Northern Ireland squad for an upcoming international friendly in Cyprus.

The Town duo has received the call from Northern Ireland Manager Michael O’Neill for the friendly, which will take place in Nicosia’s GSP Stadium on Wednesday 5 March.

Northern Ireland, who are currently ranked 90th in the FIFA standings, have not played the 125th ranked Cypriots since a 0-0 friendly draw at Windsor Park in August 2002.

‘Pato’ has scored three goals in 21 senior appearances for the Irish, whereas Oliver has played 14 times for his adopted country.
