19 February 2014

Under-18’s Sixth Round opponents confirmed

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18s will play at Fulham in the Sixth Round of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Town’s opponent in the next stage was confirmed on Wednesday evening, with the London side beating Manchester City 3-1 at Oldham’s Boundary Park.

Fulham’s Academy is category 1 under EPPP rules and their Under-18s, managed by former Portsmouth winger Steve Wigley, currently top the Barclays U18 Premier League South table with 43 points from 20 games. As well as Manchester City, they have defeated QPR and Tottenham Hotspur to reach this stage of the FA Youth Cup.

Town’s Under-18s, who top the Under-18 Professional Development League 2 North table, have beaten Luton Town, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United to reach the last eight of the competition.

The date for this fixture at Craven Cottage is still to be confirmed, but the match must be played before Saturday 8 March.
