DUANE LOANED TO YEOVIL

20 February 2014

Holmes goes to Somerset

Midfielder Duane Holmes has today joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Yeovil Town on an Emergency Loan.

The 19 year-old Academy graduate made his professional debut for the Terriers in the Capital One Cup game at Hull City in late September and has gone onto make 14 First Team appearances; 13 as a substitute.

He will now join Yeovil, managed by Gary Johnson, on an emergency loan and is expected to be available for their game at home to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

The Glovers are scheduled to play seven games during Duane’s month in Somerset against promotion contenders Reading, Ipswich Town, QPR and Wigan Athletic, with the other three games against Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton Wanderers.

Duane is scheduled to return to Town on Sunday 23 March, although he can be recalled after the first 28 days of the loan.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:

“I’ve been keen to keep Duane in and around our squad because he’s made an impact this season, but in terms of taking the next step in his development this move to gain further experience in the Championship is a very good one for him, and of course for us.

“I have spoken with Gary Johnson and he assures me that he will be given a good opportunity and we are looking forward to him taking the chance to get time on the pitch.

“Yeovil are desperately trying to get out of the bottom three and the experience will do him good.

“We hope that during his loan with them he progresses and gains more Championship experience, enabling him to come back here with more knowledge on what is required at this level.”
