AMBASSADOR TURNS COACH
11 February 2014
Club Ambassador Andy Booth’s role at Huddersfield Town forever sees him taking on new challenges – and to start this week he entered the dugout as a coach!
Later in the week, he will take to the stage at PPG Canalside to host the inaugural ‘Canalside Quiz Night’ – click HERE for more information.
However, on Monday he accompanied Rob Day and Dane Murphy from the Club’s Community Department as the Mirfield Free Grammar girls represented the Club in the U13s Football League Cup Northern Finals.
Sadly, Boothy’s words of wisdom didn’t quite have the desired effect! The girls drew two of their six games meaning they didn’t qualify from the group, which included teams from Bolton, Shrewsbury and Notts County.
Shrewsbury were the eventual winners and will take on the winners of the Southern Finals at Wembley ahead of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.
Speaking after the event, Andy Booth congratulated the girls: “They should be very proud of the way they represented the Club; they worked hard and were unfortunate in a number of their games.
“The girls did fantastically well to qualify for the Finals and can leave knowing that they are the fourth best school in the north of England, which is a brilliant achievement!”
