TOWN’S TEAM vs. CARDIFF

16 August 2014

Lillis makes five changes to starting XI

Caretaker Manager Mark Lillis has made five changes to Town’s starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at Cardiff City; 3pm kick-off.

Mark has handed a Town debut to newest recruit Jacob Butterfield in midfield, with Danny Ward dropping to the bench.

Unfortunately Captain Lee Peltier has been ruled out of today’s game with a groin injury he sustained in Tuesday night’s extra time Capital One Cup win at Chesterfield, so his place in the centre of defence is taken by Joel Lynch.

Lillis has also switched goalkeepers, with Alex Smithies coming in at the expense of Joe Murphy.

The other two changes come in midfield, where Jonathan Hogg replaces Oliver Norwood and Radoslaw Majewski comes in for Sean Scannell.

Town’s team vs. Cardiff City:
1. Alex Smithies
