HARRY: THAT WILL KICK-START OUR SEASON

19 August 2014

Debutant Bunn on the win at Reading

Harry Bunn was delighted to play a part in securing Town’s first win of the season at Reading this evening.

The 21 year-old scored Town’s second goal on his full debut in the 2-1 win and believes this could be a real boost for the rest of the season.

“Obviously I’m delighted with how I did tonight, but obviously the whole team was fantastic; it was a group effort. We owe that to ‘Lills’ and the coaching staff – they gave us a game-plan and we pretty much nailed it. We got the three points, which will hopefully kick start our season.

“When defending we had five across midfield to try and stop them playing. Obviously there are a good team at home and will probably finish quite high in the League. The game-plan was spot on – the boys did well.

“This would have been a great result at any stage of the season, but it is particularly now given our difficult start to the season. I think we needed the three points tonight.”

Harry played on the left side for the Terriers and thanked one teammate in particular for helping him through his first start:

“My natural game is to get forward, so I need to thank ‘Dicko’ (Paul Dixon), who kept reminding me to get back! It was nice to get the goal, but you need to work hard when you come to places like this and play very good teams. They have two very attacking full backs, so as a wide man you need to get back.”

After such a superb full debut, Bunn is hoping to feature once again when Town is back on home soil against Charlton Athletic on Saturday:

“Hopefully I’ll be in the team on Saturday, because I thought I did alright tonight. I’d love to get another start. ‘Lills’ really showed faith in me in putting me in tonight and it’s been nice to repay that. We’ll be confident going into Saturday’s game against another decent side in Charlton.”
