We are ‘The Yorkshire Club’ – and we’d like to wish all our Club’s supporters and the people of the White Rose county a Happy Yorkshire Day!
During the ‘New Era’ of the Club under Chairman Dean Hoyle, Town has taken great pride in our Yorkshire heritage; we are proud of our roots in this great county, as Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens explained:
“Yorkshire is a very special county; it’s a great part of the world with wonderful people. We all saw that in the way Yorkshire welcomed the Tour de France in its highly successful 'Grande Departe' last month it showed what the county is all about. We’re all proud to be hard working, straight talking, honest, loyal and full of pride in what we do. We have a fighting spirit, a will to win, a never say die attitude, we try to do the right thing, make a difference and cherish our community. Yorkshire has a great sense of identity and spirit of togetherness. It's these great values along with breath-taking landscapes and a rich history that for me make Yorkshire worth celebrating.
“Those values are at the heart of Yorkshire and Huddersfield Town too and that’s what makes us ‘The Yorkshire Club’. Nothing demonstrates this more than the way our fans have worked together with the Club and embraced and supported the Yorkshire Air Ambulance raising over £1 million for the “Keep-it-up” Campaign, which saves lives across the whole of Yorkshire. Its wonderful that we can celebrate all that is fantastic about our home County.
