Midfielder believes a win is around the corner

Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern believes home advantage will give the Terriers the edge when they take on Bolton and Ipswich Town in the next week.

Town host Bolton before welcoming Ipswich on Tuesday night and after six matches without a win, Oscar is confident that he and his teammates can collect three points this weekend.

“It is a big game, a big week in fact, especially on the back of two draws,” he said. “We want to get back to winning ways.

“We are on home soil and we will aim to take the game to Bolton. We have proven that we are capable of beating the top teams having picked up three points against Burnley and Wigan at home.”

Town outplayed Play-Off hopefuls Reading last week, but failed to secure the win: “When you dominate a game in such of way you have to pick up three points. There will be times when you don’t play to your capability and you get punished; we need to punish teams as much as they do us.”

Oscar made his return to the starting line-up at home to Middlesbrough and is hoping to stay in Mark Robins’ plans until the end of the season

“I have enjoyed the last week and feel like I am getting into rhythm, hopefully I can maintain my place for the rest of the season.

“I set high standards and I haven’t played as many games as I would have liked. It is down to me to put that right and I have been given a chance to do that. Game by game I want to improve and help the team move forward.”

The Terriers will welcome Neil Danns and Jermaine Beckford back to the Club on Saturday, two players who were influential as Town retained its Championship status last term

“They are top lads who were fantastic for us last season in difficult times,” said Oscar. “I would have loved it if they could have stayed. ‘Dannsy’ is a real livewire and a busy midfielder; he is always in the thick of things and is a good competitor.

“‘Becks’ was a big personality and he was good to have around the place. Hopefully they both have quiet games, but it is up to us to make sure that they do. We know their strengths and weaknesses and I believe we are good enough to nullify their threat.”
