Eighth cap for Town youngster in Georgia draw

Huddersfield Town Academy scholar Danny Kane earned his eighth cap for the Republic of Ireland Under-17 side as it drew 2-2 with Georgia in its final UEFA Championships Elite Qualifying Round fixture on Monday.

The first year scholar played the full 90 minutes as the Irish surrendered a two goal lead in Serbia, with the Georgians hitting back with two goals in the final five minutes of the game.

This result means that the Irish now exit the competition at this stage having been defeated by the hosts and Germany in their previous two matches.
