Seven players to start scholarships next season

Seven Under-16 players will begin two year scholarships at the Huddersfield Town Academy from the start of the 2014/15 season with the goal of eventually becoming professional footballers.

Starting from next season, the new scholars will form Town’s Under-18 group alongside the current set of first year scholars to complete a full programme of fixtures and full-time training under Professional Development Coaches Frankie Bunn and Tony Carss.

Alongside their on the field activity, they will also complete an educational NVQ programme headed by the LFE and Town.

Regan Booty
Midfielder



A left sided player who resides in Holmfirth, Regan joined Town as an Under-9 player. He can play at left back but primarily features on the left wing. 

In his Under-16 season, he has made 23 starts and 8 substitute appearances for the Under-18 side, netting 11 goals.

Jack Boyle
Midfielder



A right winger who has also featured in the number 10 role, Jack joined Town’s Academy at Under-10 level from Garforth Villa. 

Hailing from Scholes, he has made five starts and 14 substitute appearances for the Under-18s this season, scoring once. 

Dylan Cogill
Defender



Batley-based Dylan is a left-sided centre half, who can also play at left back. He joined the Terriers from local junior side Gildersome Spurs at Under-9 level.

Jacob Hanson
Defender



Jacob, from Kirkburton, joined Town from local side Kirkburton Juniors at Under-13 level. He made three starts for the Under-18s at the beginning of this season on the right of midfield, but he has subsequently played most of his football this season at right back.

Adam Porritt
Midfielder



An extremely versatile player, Adam joined Town from Howden Clough at Under-13 level. Hailing from Goole in East Yorkshire, he has played a variety of positions this season; ranging from centre half to a more recent attacking midfield position.

Rekeil Pyke
Striker



Rekeil lives in Chapeltown, Leeds and joined Town from Rothwell Juniors at Under-12 level.

He has featured regularly for the Under-18s this term, making eight starts and 14 further appearances as a substitute, scoring two goals.

Jamie Spencer
Midfielder



Halifax-based Jamie joined the Terriers from Halifax Irish juniors at Under-9 level. As well as playing in a central midfield berth this season, he is also capable of featuring at right back.
