Woods makes first start of the season

Huddersfield Town Manager has made two changes to the starting eleven for today’s Championship Yorkshire derby against Doncaster Rovers; 3pm kick-off.

Robins has handed a first start of the season to Calum Woods, who is fit again after recovering from a thigh injury. He is expected to play on the right side, with Adam Hammill switching to the left and Jake Carroll dropping to the substitutes’ bench.

The other change comes in attack, where Martin Paterson – fresh from scoring his second goal for Northern Ireland on Tuesday night – replaces Sean Scannell.

The Terriers are expected to line up in their 3-5-2 formation again this afternoon, with goalkeeper Alex Smithies protected by a back four of Joel Lynch, Captain Peter Clarke and Anthony Gerrard, who is making his 50th Huddersfield Town appearance today.

Like Gerrard, Oliver Norwood is also making his 50th appearance for the Club alongside Jonathan Hogg and Adam Clayton in central midfield, with Calum Woods at right wing-back and Adam Hammill on the left.

Martin Paterson joins eight goal top scorer James Vaughan in attack.

Having scored five goals in just four starts for Town’s Under-21 team so far this season, striker Daniel Carr makes his first appearance on Town’s First Team bench today.

The Club is yet to receive international clearance from FIFA for new loan signing Jazz Richards, so he does not feature in today’s match day 18.
