TOWN’S TEAM vs. BLACKPOOL
27 September 2013
Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins has named his starting XI for tonight’s televised Sky Bet Championship game at home to Blackpool; 7.45pm kick-off.
Robins has made one change to the team that started the previous League game at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, with Oliver Norwood replacing Paul Dixon.
This means that goalkeeper Alex Smithies, who signed a contract extension earlier this week, will start behind centre halves Joel Lynch – who has recovered from the knee injury that forced him off at Ewood Park – former Blackpool man Peter Clarke and Anthony Gerrard, who is making the 300th League start of his career tonight.
Oliver Norwood will partner Jonathan Hogg in central midfield behind the slightly more advanced Adam Clayton, with Jazz Richards and another former Blackpool player, Adam Hammill, operating as wing backs.
In attack, Jonathan Stead retains his place alongside the Championship’s top scorer James Vaughan.
After their appearances against Hull City in the midweek Capital One Cup game, Murray Wallace and Duane Holmes are among the substitutes this evening.
