“PLENTY TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT”

30 September 2013

Mark looking forward to Riverside trip

Mark Robins told htafc.com that there are plenty of things to be positive about following recent performances.

Town went within a whisker of beating high-flying Blackpool on Friday and previous to that had earned a hard fought point at Blackburn Rovers.

“It is a game that we are looking forward to,” Mark said. “There were plenty of things regarding our second half performance against Blackpool to be positive about and even a few things from the first.

“The players are bright, breezy and bubbly and looking ahead to the game,” he added. “It is another opportunity for us to play at a big stadium against a good Championship team.”

Town’s style of play has proven a major talking point during the early stages of the season and Mark has enjoyed what he has seen at times.

“A lot of work has gone into it and you can see the style coming through in the way that the players are trying to play. The table at the moment doesn’t really mean anything, it is just important that we keep picking points up. We would like to be more fluid away from home, but it is really earlier days. We are capable, though, and we are competitive.

“It is about the players enjoying it and believing in one another.”

Middlesbrough are yet to win on home soil, but Town’s Manager is not underestimating the threat that they hold.

“They have got good players, having recruited well during the summer. They have plenty of pace and some good footballers in midfield, having bought in the likes of Jacob Butterfield and Dean Whitehead. He (Tony Mowbray) has a number of options to choose from, but it is about us and how we perform.

“We will have to be at our best because they are a decent side and this is the Championship.”
