TOWN’S TEAM vs. LEEDS

26 October 2013

Robins hands Holmes full debut

Manager Mark Robins has handed Duane Holmes his first Huddersfield Town start in today’s West Yorkshire derby at home to Leeds United; 12.30pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

18 year-old Academy graduate Holmes comes in as one of four changes to the team that started the previous game at Leicester City on Saturday.

Jonathan Stead is the replacement for the suspended James Vaughan this afternoon, whereas fit-again Jazz Richards replaces Calum Woods in the back line after recovering from the calf injury that kept him sidelined last weekend.

The final change comes in midfield, where Robins has opted for the experience of Keith Southern at the expense of Oscar Gobern. It is Keith’s first League appearance of the season following his pre-season injury.

Striker Daniel Carr – awaiting his league debut – is among the substitutes today after scoring his eighth goal for Town’s Under-21 team in just six games during midweek.
