Norwood and Paterson play in Irish defeatD
Two Huddersfield Town players earned further international caps during the latest round of fixtures on Friday night.
Midfielder Oliver Norwood and striker Martin Paterson played the full 90 minutes during Northern Ireland’s disappointing 2-0 away defeat in Azerbaijan in the country’s latest World Cup qualifier.
For Norwood, who was booked in Baku, it was a 13th cap for his senior national side, whereas teammate Paterson now has three goals in 18 caps for his country.
Northern Ireland is back in action in Israel on Tuesday night.
Elsewhere, Town loanee Jazz Richards was an unused substitute for Wales during their 1-0 home win over Macedonia. They now face the tough trip to Belgium for another World Cup qualifier in midweek.
