Ian Kirkpatrick joins the Club’s medical team

Huddersfield Town has appointed Ian Kirkpatrick as assistant physio in the First Team’s Medical Department.

Kirkpatrick (pictured above centre) will work with Head of First Team Medical James Haycock and with Club Masseur Chris Senior as the Club continues to improve its football operations.

After graduating from Northumbria University in 2006, Kirkpatrick worked as the Senior Physiotherapist at Ramsay Healthcare, Euxton Hall Hospital. He worked primarily as a clinician, but also worked in the Hospital’s Orthopaedic Department.

Prior to his work in the hospital, Kirkpatrick worked alongside Town’s Head Physiotherapist James Haycock as the Youth Team and Reserve Team physiotherapist at Hartlepool United. His most recent taste of physiotherapy in the football industry was with Wigan Athletic during its time in the Premier League.

Speaking to htafc.com, Kirkpatrick said:

“I am really looking forward to working with the players; this opportunity arose at the perfect time as I was planning on moving back to the area,” he said. “Working within a football clubs was something that I have desired since leaving Wigan and I can’t wait to get going. 

“I have always enjoyed working within a sporting envionment and I am glad that I have been given the opportunity at Huddersfield Town, a Club with clear ambition and a good infrastructure.” 

Kirkpatrick experienced his first taste of action at Tuesday’s U21 Professional Development League 2 North match, which Town won 2-0 at Coventry.
