Get down and cheer them home at 2.30pm
Good luck to all 175 Town fans talking part in the 2013 ‘Walk for Pounds’ event on Saturday!
The 19 mile walk from Leeds Bradford Airport to the John Smith’s Stadium will raise money for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign, which funds the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.
Among the 175 walkers are Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle and his wife Janet; Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s Director of Fundraising Paul Gowland.
The walkers will meet at Canalside at the early time of 5.30am before Stotts Coaches take them to Leeds Bradford ahead of the 7am start. The fans will then walk back to Canalside, via the midway stop at Odsal Fire Station.
Once all the walkers have congregated back at Canalside, they will make their way to the John Smith’s Stadium to take part in a pre-match lap of honour around the pitch, starting at 2.30pm – please come down early and give them the reception they deserve!
Huddersfield Town’s Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan commented:
“On behalf of the Club, I would like to wish everyone taking part in ‘Walk for Pounds’ the very best of luck for tomorrow. We’ve checked the weather and we’re hopeful the conditions will be decent for you!
“I would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate our thanks to Stotts Coaches for its kind sponsorship of the event as well as for taking the walkers to Leeds Bradford Airport for the departure.
“I’d also like to thank club partners Total Foodservice for providing flapjacks and Shepley Spring for providing Ice Valley water; it’s very much appreciated.”
