Local band films video for ‘Smile A While’

Huddersfield Town fans are set to be the stars in a music video in aid of the Town Foundation.

Canalside Sports Complex provided the location as its Radcliffe Suite was transformed into a music studio on Sunday afternoon.

Town fans were invited to the complex to watch, and be a part of the filming, as local band Red Star performed their version of Club song ‘Smile A While’.

It was the first time that the band had performed the song to an audience, as Town fans ranging from three year old to those that have supported the Club for decades, listened to the modernised version.

Darren Evans and his team from Pixel Factory directed and filmed the live performance for the CD which will be released later this month; all proceeds will be donated to the Foundation.

Town Foundation Trustee and Commercial Director Sean Jarvis said:

“Sunday was a fantastic day and capped a great weekend, which started with victory in the West Yorkshire derby.

“Some fans travelled from hundreds of miles away to be a part of the celebrations and I must thank their dedication and effort.

“Also, Club and Charity supporter Mark Young deserves a lot of praise for all his hard work in ensuring that the initial idea was turned into reality. Red Star were fantastic and worked very hard and brought a lot of creativity to the day.

“The single ‘Smile A While’ is set to go on sale on Saturday 30 November and I would urge everything to purchase a copy as all the proceeds go direct to the Town Foundation!”
