Lillis, Eyre, Colgan, Bunn and Carss attend latest Patrons meeting
Members of the Huddersfield Town Patrons were given a unique insight into the Academy and under-21 operations at the Club at last night’s ‘An Audience with…’ meeting with Mark Lillis, Steve Eyre, Nick Colgan, Frankie Bunn and Tony Carss.
HTAFC Club Ambassador Andy Booth compered the meeting, taking questions from the Patrons on topics including the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), the guests’ individual roles and responsibilities, upcoming prospects and the Academy philosophy.
Academy Manager Mark Lillis discussed the expansion of the Academy since his appointment in December 2011, and praised his fellow staff members for their dedication and commitment.
Nick Colgan, Academy Goalkeeping Coach, discussed the positive future of the goalkeepers in the Academy at the moment.
Professional Development Coaches Frankie Bunn and Tony Carss described the Academy players’ daily routine and how they align their activities with that of the first team.
Steve Eyre, Senior Professional Development Coach, discussed his belief that the Academy has a fantastic reputation, and that its ability to convert youth players into the first team means it is going in the right direction.
The Patrons club has been supporting the Academy since its inception in 1985, with proceeds from the membership going towards helping it flourish and develop.
The next Patrons meeting will be with HTAFC Chairman Dean Hoyle on Wednesday 4 December at 7.30pm at Canalside.
