CLARKE INJURY UPDATE

12 November 2013

Defender set for stay on the side-lines

Huddersfield Town Captain Peter Clarke is set for a stint on the side-lines following a medial ligament strain suffered against Birmingham City.

The defender sustained the injury in the third minute of the game against the Blues, following a challenge with Birmingham striker Jesse Lingard.

Clarke has since undergone a scan and received an opinion from the specialist, which confirmed the strain to his medial ligament.

Town’s Captain is set to wear a protective cast for six weeks.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins said:

“The news is disappointing for Peter Clarke and the Club because he has been a virtual ever present and a very strong influence on the team since I took charge. It is a big blow for everyone concerned.

“Peter has the character to come back quicker than expected and it wouldn’t surprise me if he did. Although we can’t put an exact timescale on his return, it will be somewhere in the region of 10-12 weeks.”
