Norwich loanee wins the Championship’s April accolade

Huddersfield Town loanee James Vaughan has won the npower Championship’s April ‘Player of the Month’ award!

His win makes him the first Town player to win one of the League’s monthly accolades since the Club’s return to the second tier of English football.

The 24 year-old netted four goals in the month, which included an impressive hat-trick in the vital win at relegated Bristol City in the penultimate match of the season and a solitary strike at home to Millwall on 20 April.

This win caps an excellent end to the season for the striker, who also scooped the prestigious Hargreaves Memorial Trophy as Town’s Player of the Year at the 2013 Annual Awards after netting 14 goals in just 31 League starts for the Club.

Vaughan is just the second loanee to win the Club’s Player of the Year award, following on from fellow striker Leon Knight in the 2001/02 season.
