200 young supporters beat the legends!
Huddersfield Town made memories that will last a lifetime for 200 local youngsters at the 2013 ‘Kids vs. Legends’ game on Bank Holiday Monday.
The children descended on the Stadium in the glorious sunshine to face off against a team of Town legends including the likes of Andy Booth, Efe Sodje, Andy Holdsworth, Anthony Lloyd, Clyde Wijnhard, Delroy Facey, Nat Brown and Ian Hughes!
The game, sponsored by CBC Computers, was featured on Sky Sports News throughout the afternoon and saw each half won by the kids; the younger age group were 5-3 winners during the opening 30 minutes, whereas the elder children secured a solid 3-1 victory!

The entertainment on the afternoon started early, with each child receiving a goody bag including a personalised shirt upon arrival.
Town’s community team helped with the pre-match build-up, setting up several activities pitch side including a target ring, speed gun and face painting along with the ever-popular Terry the Terrier.
The Club even provided team sheets including the names of every child that participated as a memento for the participants!
After the game every child received a medal at a special presentation ceremony and also got the chance to grab a picture or autograph with the former Town stars.
Town has already received some great feedback from parents:
Just a brief note to say a huge thank you to you all at Huddersfield Town for organising and running the Town XI vs 200 Kids Event. It was hugely enjoyable for parents and kids alike, and a great thrill for my boys to actually run on the pitch alongside such greats as Andy Booth and Delroy Facey! The stars and the staff were welcoming, encouraging and obviously gave a lot of time and effort to make the event run so seamlessly.
The day was smoothly run, well organised and stewarded, and even the weather was sublime. We travelled from just north of London to join you, and it was well worth the journey - my son James has already asked if he can come to the next one.
Thank you again to you all for a great day.

Club Ambassador Andy Booth told htafc.com:
“A big focus for Huddersfield Town is its engagement with junior supporters and we hope that the Kids Match on Monday was an excellent experience for the families involved.
“A football club like Huddersfield Town, which firmly positions itself as a community club, must provide more events and activities for fans outside normal match days and it was fantastic to see the children enjoying the day so much.
“I would also like to thank the legends for taking their time to play in the game; their participation makes a big difference.”
