A ‘MARQUEE MONTH’ AT CANALSIDE

17 May 2013

Three events confirmed for July

July is set to be a ‘marquee month’ at Town’s Canalside Sports Complex thanks to some big events that are being planned at the facility.

A special marquee will be installed at the Club’s training complex for the start of the month – just in time for the first event on 4 July!

Events planned so far include:

A darts evening with Eric Bristow – Thursday 4 July

Five time World Darts Champion Eric Bristow MBE will visit Canalside for a special darts exhibition in early July. A instantly recognisable face – more so now than ever after his starring role in ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ in 2012 – the ‘Crafty Cockney’ will take on 16 members of the audience on the evening.

Kirklees Economic Debate – Wednesday 10 July

A new event aimed at business delegates from across the region, the Kirklees Economic Debate will be chaired by Richard Abbott – Editor of Insider Magazine. Richard will be joined by several notable names from Kirklees to discuss the economic climate and the impact it has had on businesses; Nick Glynne, Managing Director of Buy It Direct; Adrian Lythgo, CEO of Kirklees Council and Conservative MP Jason McCartney.

CanALEside Beer Festival – Saturday 13 July – Sunday 14 July

Canalside will change its name for a two day period as it holds its first ever Beer Festival in the marquee. Held in association with CAMRA, the event is expected to be very popular and will feature up to 100 hundred locally produced real ales and ciders for the discerning drinker!

Full details of all these events, plus several more in the planning stages, will follow on htafc.com over the coming weeks, but for now make sure you save the dates in your diary!
