Youngsters ready to represent Town on the big stage

Honley Junior School are heading to Wembley to represent Huddersfield Town after winning the regional heats of the npower U11s Community Cup!

The youngsters will travel to London on Sunday 26th May courtesy of the Football League and will tour Wembley on Sunday (27) morning before taking on Millwall in the final, one hour before the Championship Play-Off Final!

Honley – who feature Andy Booth’s son Harrison and played an exhibition match during the half-time interval of the Charlton match – were victorious over Middlesbrough in the final of the regional heats on Thursday.

As in previous years, Town’s Football in the Community Team organised and officiated the competition held at the Zone on St Andrew’s Road.

Wins over representative teams of Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Sheffield United ensured that Town’s representatives finished top of their group. Honley went on to defeat Leeds 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final before beating Middlesbrough 2-0 in the final.

Accompanied by their teachers and Town’s Football in the Community coaches, Honley will travel down to Wembley over the Play-Off Final weekends to try and emulate Meltham who won the competition in 2011.
