Bunn reports on ‘deserved point’ in Yorkshire derby
Huddersfield Town’s Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn believes his side were well worth a point in the latest Under-18 Professional Development League 2 game of the season at Barnsley on Saturday.
“It was a tough game played in difficult conditions in that it was a hard, bobbly pitch. However, we adapted to the conditions quite well,” Bunn told htafc.com.
“We actually changed our shape and played a diamond in midfield, which we did pretty well. I thought we defended well and our shape was good, but perhaps we didn’t conjure up enough moments in the opposing third. We had a couple of decent chances but didn’t take them
“However, a point was well fought and well deserved.”
The game featured a first start at this level for Under-15 striker Rekeil Pyke.
Frankie continued: “Rekeil has been on as sub and has actually scored for the Under-18s this season, but obviously it is tough for him because he doesn’t play full-time football and he is stepping up two age groups. He is a big, strong boy that we’re going to have to nurture and gently get him through the 18’s programme.”
