ASHBROW PUPILS CELEBRATE SUCCESS

25 March 2013

Local school’s achievements recognised at Stadium

Two groups of pupils from Ashbrow School were rewarded for their efforts and achievements at Huddersfield Town Success Centre this academic year during a special assembly which was held in the school hall.

Each of the two groups had attended the Success Centre to follow a well structured programme of online Maths and English activities. Both groups consisted of 15 pupils who visited the centre after school on Monday evenings every week over a period of up to eight weeks. All pupils made progress with their numeracy and literacy and everyone involved said how much they had enjoyed the experience.

“I love the Success Centre. It was great to learn by having fun. Penalty Shootout was my favourite game,” one pupil commented.

Club Ambassador Andy Booth and Huddersfield Town Success Centre teacher Jeanette Palmer attended the assembly to do the honours with the prizes. Each of the pupils received a free pair of match tickets from Huddersfield Town and a goody bag of other prizes from the Success Centre. Certificates were also presented to all pupils to recognise their academic progress.

“We are so lucky and privileged that our pupils receive such support from Huddersfield Town and the Success Centre,” Ashbrow Headteacher Dora Plant reflected.

Huddersfield Town Success Centre is a schools and community focused educational centre jointly managed by Huddersfield Town and Kirklees Council and is based in the suite of classrooms in the Fantastic Media Stand. For more information ring Jeanette Palmer on 01484 234153.
