‘School Focus’ matches attract record numbers
Over 5,000 local school children and parents have enjoyed Huddersfield Town matches this season thanks to the Club’s ‘School Focus’ initiative.
So far the Club has held three ‘Schools Focus’ matches this season; Wolves on 20 October, Bolton Wanderers on 8 December and Cardiff City on 9 February, with a fourth in the pipeline when Peterborough United come to town on 6 April.
Ahead of each game leaflets go out to over 120 registered schools in Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield, with the schools receiving cash-back on the tickets they sell. Over £5,000 has already been raised via the three schools focus matches this season for the schools to spend! This is on top of student rewards, player visits and school kits provided by Huddersfield Town.
As well as 90 minutes of action on the pitch, there are always lots of other things going on before the game and at half-time for our younger fans to experience.
To help improve the match day experience for the Club’s fans, the ‘Town Family’ group has been set up.
Dressed in bright green uniforms with ‘Here to Help’ on the back, the ‘Town Family’ are positioned around the ground to help out and take suggestions on how the Club can improve the match day experience for Town supporters.
The ‘Town Family’ also had stadium maps and general information and were of service to those seeking information on turnstiles, directions, disabled access and anything else!
Ambassador Andy Booth spends most of his afternoon in the Fantastic Media Stand signing autographs and alongside the aforementioned ‘Town Family’ helped hand out free foam hands to supporters.
