Sir Patrick Stewart gives his all-star Town XI
To celebrate the launch of the new 2013/14 home kit as tailored by PUMA, htafc.com is asking for your #htafcgreatest team – and we’ve asked one of the Club’s most famous fans to start us off with his selection!
Academy President and acting star Sir Patrick Stewart has opted for an historic selection to kick-off our drive to find Town’s best side, explaining:
“Having given it a bit of thought it all became rather simple. The following are the principal players in the squad of 1925/6 - the season that Town won the league for the third time and became the first club to do so. Have we ever had a better squad? I have taken liberties with the subs bench, however!”
Sir Patrick Stewart’s #htafcgreatest team:
Ted Taylor
Tommy Wilson
Harry Cawthorne
Billy Watson
Roy Goodall
Sam Wadsworth
Alex Jackson
Joey Williams
Clem Stephenson
George Brown
Billy Cook
Substitutes:
Alex Smithies
Ray Wilson
Mark Lillis
Vic Metcalfe
Denis Law
Jordan Rhodes
Andy Booth
Do you disagree with Sir Patrick’s selection? Let us know via Twitter (@htafcdotcom) and before 26 July and we’ll select one #htafcgreatest side at random, with the lucky tweeter winning a bag of PUMA goodies!

The black socks start from £10 in adult sizes.
Huddersfield Town has called upon some of its greatest ever players to showcase the new 2013/14 home kit, as designed by PUMA – with an eleven of legendary Huddersfield Town players chosen to don the shirts on the 100th anniversary of the Club wearing blue and white stripes, following from the inaugural striped shirt in the 1913/14 campaign.
