Nottingham Forest away on the opening day

Town’s 2013/14 Championship fixtures have been revealed this morning, with an away game at Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season!

The Terriers will travel to the City Ground on Saturday 3 August before taking on West Yorkshire rivals Bradford City in the First Round of this season’s Capital One Cup during the following midweek.

Town’s first home fixture of the season will take place on Saturday 10 August when newly relegated Queens Park Rangers visit for their first game in Huddersfield in over a decade.

Our first Yorkshire derby in the League follows on Saturday 31 August, when Mark Robins will take Town to Oakwell to face his old side Barnsley.

Town’s hotly anticipated West Yorkshire derby games against Leeds United are scheduled for Saturday 26 October at home and Saturday 1 February for the return game at Elland Road.

Town have been handed two home fixtures over the festive period; Derby County visit on Boxing Day (Thursday 26 December), whereas newly promoted Yeovil Town make the long trip north on Sunday 29 December.

The Terriers make the short trip to Burnley’s Turf Moor on New Year’s Day, Wednesday 1 January.

Towards the end of the season, Town will make the journey to Yeovil on Easter Monday 21 April and will finish the season with a game at beaten Championship Play-Off Finalists Watford on Saturday 3 May.
