OLLIE: IT IS EXCITING

Midfielder looks ahead to 2013/14 season

Town will play against the current FA Cup winners next season as they look to progress in the Championship – and midfielder Ollie Norwood told htafc.com that exciting times lay ahead.

In the final part of our interview with the former Manchester United midfielder he spoke about what lies ahead and Mark Robins' influence.

Ollie on the close season

"I haven’t soon too much of the lads since the end of the season; we have all kept in touch and it will be nice when we get back together. I enjoyed every day of last season with a great set of lads who made for a great atmosphere within the dressing room. I am looking forward to being back amongst the group again and back focused on football. Pre-season is probably the worst thing about being a footballer, but I am looking to getting back in to the swing of things.

"All the lads were given a programme to stick to during the summer – and it hasn’t been light work! If you don’t do it, though, you will get caught out. I like to keep myself fit over the summer because if you are out of shape come the start of pre-season, it is very tough."

Ollie on Mark Robins

"I played in the game at Nottingham Forest and admittedly I was very poor and after that he left me out of the side for four or five games. I didn’t even kick a ball! I started wondering if I was going to play again before the end of the season. I tried as hard as I could on the training field and managed to get myself back in the team and from there I started every game. It was difficult for the Manager to come in and implement his style because we were in a scrap and we didn’t want to give anything away. The situation that we were in required us to play a little bit longer. Hopefully he will be able to get across his ideas during pre-season and we will play some attractive football next season.

"He has been great with me and he trusted my ability. I enjoyed playing under him and I believe we will have a good season."

Ollie on the departed (Lee Novak, Scott Arfield, Alan Lee, Tom Clarke)

"I only spent a year with them, but I loved every minute of it. They were all very good company and are good lads. Alan Lee is very experienced and knowledgeable and at times last season he put his arm around me and helped me out. I was very grateful. I got on with them all very well and I wish them all the best; they have got a lot to offer. I am sure that our paths will cross again, but it is sad to see them leave, they will all be missed."

Ollie on next season

"It is exciting! You want to play against the big teams and there will be plenty in the League next season. If you want to get to the top you have to play against and beat the best and that is what we want to do. As a group we have learned a lot from last season and I don’t believe we will find ourselves in a similar situation in the coming one."
