WAKEFIELD PUB BACKS ‘KEEP IT UP’

26 July 2013

The New Albion celebrates on Yorkshire Day

The New Albion pub in Wakefield will be celebrating Yorkshire Day with a fundraising-filled weekend in aid of the Club’s ‘Keep It Up’ campaign with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance!

Lifelong Town fan Nicholas Towell, who is a staff member at the New Albion on Flanshaw Lane, persuaded his colleagues to enter into the ‘Blue and White’ spirit by raising awareness and funds for the innovative campaign, which raises funds for the YAA charity and the HTAFC Academy.

Yorkshire Day falls on Thursday 1 August in 2013, so the pub will be running activities over the following weekend - as Nick explained:

“There will be lots going on at the pub over the weekend of the 3 and 4 August in celebration of Yorkshire Day and we are proud to be raising funds for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign through these activities.

“Good old home-made Yorkshire puddings will be on sale along with other classic Yorkshire offerings; for more information please visit www.newalbion.co.uk”.

The ‘Keep It Up’ campaign was formed in 2009, and to date has raised close to £1 million.
