Clarke makes first start of pre-season

Manager Mark Robins has named his starting XI for today’s pre-season friendly at League 1 Rotherham United; 3pm kick-off in South Yorkshire. 

The Terriers will line up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation at the New York Stadium this afternoon, with goalkeeper Alex Smithies protected by a back four of Paul Dixon, Joel Lynch, Captain Peter Clarke and Jack Hunt. Lynch has recovered after being taken off as a precaution at York City on Tuesday night, whereas this is Clarke’s first start of pre-season following closed season knee surgery.

Oliver Norwood and Jordan Sinnott will play as the deep central midfielders behind Sean Scannell on the left, Adam Clayton on the right and Danny Ward through the middle, just behind central striker James Vaughan.
