Refurbished kitchen reopens on Wednesday
The next stage of the investment in Canalside will be completed when the completely refurbished kitchen reopens to the public on Wednesday.
Major investment was made in the playing area over the past 18 months with the installation of a brand new, state of the art 3G pitch and a complete redevelopment of the grass pitches, but now attention has turned to the main building at the complex.
Following on from the complete revamp of the Radcliffe Suite (click HERE for pictures of the new function room) the kitchen has been extended and completely rebuilt over a two month process.
Huddersfield Town’s Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens commented:
“The reopening of the kitchen is another step forward for the Canalside redevelopment programme.
“The facility has been transformed since we first took over in November 2010, as anyone who has visited will testify to.
“A lot of hard work and investment has gone into the playing facilities and it’s been very satisfying for everyone involved to finally see the First Team, Development Squad and Academy players all working together out on the redeveloped pitches and 3G pitch.
“It is just as important a part of our plans to redevelop the main building and community areas of the facility. We put a lot of work into the function room and the closed season period has allowed us to rebuild the kitchen from scratch in time for the return and use of the playing squad, which is key to their nutritional requirements.
“I believe visitors to Canalside will be really impressed by the marked improvements we have made. It certainly gets the ‘wow’ factor when people come now.
“Next on the agenda is the rebuilding of the frontage and reception area which is already well underway. Then we will move onto the main site entrance. The facility is becoming something that the Club, supporters and community can all take pride in.”
The Club has invested significantly in completely revamped kitchen facilities, which now includes state of the art equipment and a completely revamped serving area.
To coincide with the launch a completely new menu will also be launched on Wednesday, which offers value for money on healthy, home-cooked food made from fresh produce provided locally by the likes of Haigh’s Farm Shop and Total Foodservice.
Our chefs will also prepare home-cooked daily specials!
The Canalside cafe will be open to the public between 12pm and 2pm from Monday to Friday and will also be open on weekends during First Team home match days and Academy match days.
