Steve delighted with Radcliffe run out
Steve Eyre told htafc.com that his development squad were a pleasure to watch as they comfortably beat Radcliffe Borough 4-0 on Friday evening.
A brace from Captain Matt Crooks and a goal apiece for Daniel Carr and Max Leonard was enough to see of Town’s Evo-Stik opponents.
“We were impressive tonight,” Steve said. “I am delighted with the team’s effort. We had a number of youngsters playing and we looked very energetic.
“Everyone wanted the ball and shared it well, which allowed us to counter attack. I am very pleased that we were able to put a finish to our approach play.”
Matt Crooks was instrumental for Town going forward and took both his goals with aplomb.
“His link up play with Max Leonard was also very impressive,” Steve added. “We had a lot of possession tonight so it was good to see the lads use the ball effectively. It was a great opportunity for us to take a hold of a game and put our practice on the training field into a game situation.
“A lot of good work goes in through the week technically and tactically and it’s great to see the lads put it to good use during a game and manage it themselves maturely.
“Everything was good about tonight and I think it really highlighted that we have got some very good young footballers at the club. Watching them play tonight was a real pleasure.”
