All Development Squad loanees enjoy weekend wins
Fellow loanee Liam Ridehalgh was ineligible to feature this weekend as Rotherham United was in FA Cup action, but Town’s five loanees from the Development Squad all had a good weekend:
Jordan Sinnott – Altrincham
Under-21 Captain Sinnott enjoyed another good weekend with promotion-chasing Altrincham in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division, recording a 3-0 home win over Harrogate Town. It was already 1-0 to the hosts when the visiting goalkeeper was sent off and with an outfield replacement between the sticks, ‘Alty’ took full advantage – netting two further goals.
Sinnott was reported to have five efforts at goal kept out during another impressive performance on his fifth appearance for the side.
Connor Loftus – Mossley AFC
Mossley AFC retained its position at the top of the League with a 2-0 home win over Ossett Albion. Striker Loftus started the game before being withdrawn on 69 minutes, but didn’t add to his single goal on his third appearance for the Club.
Matt Crooks & James Burke – Radcliffe Borough
It was another good weekend for Radcliffe as they recorded a 3-0 away win at Clitheroe – and Town’s loanees starred. Centre back Burke opened the scoring, netting a penalty for his first senior goal in the 65th minute, before ‘Boro’ were awarded another penalty – and this time midfielder Crooks stepped up to fire home with ten minutes left.
The tall midfielder completed a brace in the 85th minute, converting a cross from the right from skipper Matt Jones for this third goal in just four starts for the Club.
Max Leonard – Garforth Town
Striker Leonard helped bottom side Garforth record only its second win in the Evo-Stik Northern Division One all season at Harrogate Railway; his first goal for his new side – a header – levelled the scoring at 1-1 before Garforth eventually completed a superb 3-2 away win.
