HAT-TRICK OF SUPPORT FOR PINK LINK!

7 January 2013

Long-time Club Partner backs ‘Pedal for Pounds 4’

Nationwide palletised distributor, The Pink Link Ltd, has scored a hat-trick with Huddersfield Town by taking the title sponsorship of the Club’s fundraising ‘Pedal for Pounds’ bike ride for a third successive year.

The latest instalment, ‘Pedal for Pounds 4’, will see fans take to their bikes on a tour of Yorkshire to raise funds for the lifesaving Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

The ride will start in Huddersfield on Wednesday 1 May 2013 with cyclists taking a circular route around God’s own county to Hull, Scarborough, Harrogate and back to Huddersfield in time for the Club’s last home league fixture v Barnsley on Saturday 4 May 2013. Vicki Davenport who completed the ride last year on a tandem has signed up again for this year’s ride:

‘’We are delighted to support the bike ride again. Last year’s 262 mile bike ride was an unbelievable challenge in some horrendous weather conditions, so I hope this year it will be dryer and warmer for all the riders and support teams who did a fantastic job raising an amazing amount of money for the YAA.”

To celebrate its continued support of the ride, The Pink Link’s Managing Director Richard Allen and Sales & Commercial Director Vicki Davenport – along with mascot Pinky Lynx – joined Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis and Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan at the Stadium to get in the mood for some heavy-duty cycling!

Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:

“The Club would like to thank the Pink Link for its continued support of the ‘Pedal for Pounds’ bike ride.

“Like Huddersfield Town, the Pink Link has a strong sense of loyalty to its local community as well as charitable causes, therefore it is only natural that we should continue to team up to promote and provide funding towards one of the biggest annual charitable fundraisers in the region.

“Over 100 people have already signed up to the tour of Yorkshire and I hope together we can smash the record of 280 participants we set last year on our way back from Yeovil.”

The Huddersfield-based company, who’s distinctively branded trucks are often seen on the roads in the region and nationally, has been supporting ‘The Yorkshire Club’ since 2005 and renewed its partnership in the summer as the Terriers take on the new challenge of the npower Championship (click HERE for full details).

The Pink Link is a member of Palletways(UK) Ltd and is a specialist provider of express distribution services of palletised goods with great focus  on providing an exceptional customer service experience – not often found in the industry and have received many accolades supporting their success.

The Pink Link’s delivery fleet is specifically designed to cater for the multidrop commercial, high street, and domestic environment with the added benefit of tail lifts to simplify deliveries where fork lift trucks are not available. Double deck trailers allow maximum consolidation of freight, minimising the number of movements required, thus reducing carbon footprint. All vehicles have the added security of 'trackers' so client’s freight and network freight can be accounted for at any given time.

Since 2001, the Pink Link has raised almost £150,000 for causes such as the Keep It Up campaign, Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Forget Me Not Trust.
