WALLACE MAKES U21 APPEARANCE

6 February 2013

Defender makes fourth appearance in Greece

Town defender Murray Wallace was a second half substitute for Scotland U21s on Wednesday afternoon as they drew 1-1 with their Greek counterparts.

Wallace made his fourth appearance for the U21s coming on in the 78th minute for Aberdeen’s Clark Robertson.

Nikos Karelis headed the hosts in front after 20 minutes at the Municipal Stadium in Korinthos.

But Billy Stark's visitors were awarded a spot-kick on 58 minutes when Kilmarnock forward Rory McKenzie was bundled over. Celtic striker Tony Watt held his nerve to send the goalkeeper the wrong way from 12 yards.

Murray will now return home and is available for selection ahead of Town’s clash with Cardiff on Saturday.

Town midfielder Oliver Norwood (Northern Ireland) and defender Joel Lynch (Wales) were both called up to their respective national squads, but had to withdraw through injury.
