TOWN’S TEAM vs. WIGAN

17 February 2013

Robins makes his first selection

New Manager Mark Robins has picked his first Huddersfield Town team ahead of today’s eagerly anticipated FA Cup Round Five game at home to Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic.

Robins has selected a strong looking side, with first choice stopper Alex Smithies returning to the eleven at the expense of the experienced Ian Bennett after missing Tuesday night’s win at Leicester City due to a family bereavement.

Elsewhere Jack Hunt returns to the line-up to make his 100th start for the Club this afternoon in front of the ITV1 cameras, with Scottish international Paul Dixon making way.

Club Captain Peter Clarke is back after sitting out the last two weeks following the concussion he sustained at Derby County; he replaces young Murray Wallace at centre back.

Town’s final change comes in midfield, where teenager Jordan Sinnott is replaced by Neil Danns.

Town look set to line up with Alex Smithies playing behind a back four of Jack Hunt, skipper Peter Clarke, Anthony Gerrard and left back Calum Woods, who is making his 50th appearance for the Terriers today.

Chris Atkinson, who turned 21 in midweek, lines up alongside Scott Arfield in midfield, with joint top scorer Adam Clayton, Neil Danns and midweek Man of the Match Sean Scannell playing in slightly more advanced roles behind central striker Alan Lee.
