TOWN’S TEAM vs. LEICESTER CITY

12 February 2013

Lillis shuffles his pack for FA Cup tie

Town’s Caretaker Manager Mark Lillis has made six changes to his starting XI for tonight’s FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Round replay against Leicester City; 7.30pm kick-off at the King Power Stadium.

Goalkeeper Alex Smithies has not travelled to Leicester due to a family bereavement, so veteran stopper Ian Bennett steps in to make his 550th career start – his first of the season. Academy Goalkeeping Coach Nick Colgan steps onto the bench this evening.

Elsewhere there are starts for Paul Dixon and Chris Atkinson as Oliver Norwood and Jack Hunt are rested, whereas Murray Wallace makes his fifth appearance for the Club at centre back with Joel Lynch feeling his hamstring after this weekend’s game.

Alan Lee makes only his second start of the season as James Vaughan is rested on the bench, whereas Jordan Sinnott replaces the ineligible Neil Danns in midfield after his impressive debut in the first meeting between the two sides in the FA Cup.

Town are expected to line up with Ian Bennett in goal behind a back four of Paul Dixon, Murray Wallace, this evening’s Captain Anthony Gerrard and Calum Woods at right back. Jordan Sinnott will sit at the base of the midfield diamond behind Scott Arfield, Chris Atkinson and the more advanced Adam Clayton, with Sean Scannell playing just off Alan Lee in attack.

Fit-again Oscar Gobern is among Town’s seven substitutes tonight.
