TOWN ACCEPT FA CHARGE

7 February 2013

Club to seek personal hearing

Huddersfield Town has admitted charges made by the Football Association following the npower Championship match against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 30 January.

On February 1, Town was charged under FA Rule E20 (a) – failure to ensure that its players/officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. Crystal Palace was also charged with the same offence.

Although Town has accepted the charge, they will seek a personal hearing to explain the mitigating circumstances.

Striker Alan Lee has not been charged by the FA following his aerial challenge with Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak.

Caretaker Manager Mark Lillis told htafc.com recently:

“Alan isn’t a guy who will go and intentionally smash someone with his elbow. He’s been a fantastic pro for me and he’s a family man; he’s actually upset about it.

“Jedinak had a great game. I’ve seen his eye and it wasn’t very good, so I wish him a speedy recovery. The whole Club – the staff, players, everyone – send their regards to him and hope he’s back quickly.”
