Striker raring to go ahead of Ipswich

Theo Robinson is delighted to be back at Town and ready to help fire the Terriers out of their relegation battle.

“It is brilliant to be back,” said the 24 year-old who trained with Mark Robins’ troops on Friday morning. “The surroundings are a little bit different, but it is good to be here and you can see the direction that the Club is heading in.”

December 8 was the last time that Town scored two goals in the league and Theo believes that he is the man to help fire Town back into form.

“I am definitely up for the fight,” he told “When I was a 16-17 year old I went on loan to Wealdstone who were battling at the wrong end of the table, so I have been in a similar situation before. I am ready for the challenge. Hopefully I will gel with the boys quickly and things will start going right on the pitch.

“There are still quite a few of the lads here from my previous spell at the Club and although I haven’t spoken to all of them yet, I met a few at the training ground this morning. Hopefully my introduction will give them a lift.”

He continued: “I will try my best for the team, starting this Saturday against Ipswich. I am here to work hard and score as many goals as I can. I am fully fit and raring to go.”
Robinson has scored nine goals in 29 appearances for the Rams this season, but hasn’t started a match for the Pride Park outfit for almost two months.

“I have been restricted to playing from the bench for a large part of the season at Derby; when I heard that Huddersfield Town were interested I grabbed the opportunity with both hands,” he said. “I want to play games and get some goals, which will hopefully help the Club with the current situation that they find themselves in.

“The signing of Connor Sammon has limited my chances of a starting place. He is a good guy and a good player and he is playing at the point of a 4-5-1 formation with Jamie Ward playing off him. I would have loved to have played alongside him more regularly, but I never got the chance.”
