Defender in buoyant mood after weekend performance

Calum Woods believes the Terriers can knock Leicester City out of the FA Cup tomorrow night if they build upon Saturday’s impressive performance against Cardiff City.

“We were all delighted with the performance and the draw that we earned; we even feel like we could have maybe nicked the win,” said the defender.

“It was a good result because Cardiff are a good team and their league position shows that. It was a very good team performance and all the lads stuck together; we worked well as a unit and stuck to our individual tasks well. We had done a lot of training on how Cardiff would attack us and it paid off.”

The Terriers have won one, drawn two and lost one under Mark Lillis and Woods is enjoying playing under him and Steve Eyre.

“We need to build on some of our performances under Mark and Steve; if we can continue in the same vein from Cardiff I believe we can win and get into the next round,” Calum told “We stuck to our game plan well when we played Leicester last time out and hopefully we can do that again tomorrow night.

“We are a very close knit squad and we have all worked together under Mark (Lillis) and Steve (Eyre); everyone is enjoying what is going on. The players have just concentrated on the football and have let everyone else get excited by the speculation. We are just preparing for games as normal and getting on with things.”

Town are yet to beat Leicester in three attempts this season and have bad memories from their last trip when they were heavily beaten 6-1.

“They beat us well last time we played at the King Power Stadium, but we now have another chance to give a better account of ourselves. Hopefully we will have learned a lesson from the last time we visited them.”

Town fans can pay on the gate at Leicester; adults £10 and concessions £5!
