WBA AWAY IN FA YOUTH CUP

13 December 2013

Fourth Round draw made

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side will play away at West Bromwich Albion in the Fourth Round Proper of this season’s FA Youth Cup.

The draw was made at the Football Association on Friday morning and will see the young Terriers travel to the Hawthorns before Saturday 25 January 2014; exact date to be confirmed.

Town’s Under-18s, managed by Professional Development Coaches Frankie Bunn and Tony Carss, have reached this stage after beating Luton Town 3-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium in the Third Round; click HERE for a match report.

Opponents West Brom defeated Walsall at home 2-1 in a Third Round Midlands derby. Managed by James Shan, they play in the Under-18 Barclays Premier League South and sit 10th from 11 teams with 10 points from their first 14 games of the season.

The two sides have only met once before in the FA Youth Cup, with Town winning a two-legged semi-final 2-1 on aggregate in route to the Club’s only FA Youth Cup Final appearance in the 1973/74 season.

The draw for the Fifth Round Proper will be made by the FA before 1pm on Friday 10 January 2014.

Town’s Under-18s will be looking to bounce back from only their second defeat of the season when they play at Derby County in the Professional Development League 2 North on Saturday.
