TOWN'S TEAM vs. IPSWICH

7 December 2013

Clayton returns to starting XI

After missing Tuesday night’s win at Bolton through suspension, Adam Clayton returns to the starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at Ipswich Town; 3pm kick-off at Portman Road.

Clayton replaces Keith Southern in midfield, who has not travelled to Suffolk with the squad due to illness.

Otherwise Mark Robins has named an unchanged line-up, meaning the ever-present Alex Smithies lines up behind what is expected to be a 3-5-2 formation once more.

Centre back Joel Lynch makes the 200th League appearance of his career today alongside Anthony Gerrard and Tommy Smith, with Paul Dixon at left wing-back and leading assists man Adam Hammill on the right.

In-form Oliver Norwood makes his 50th League start for the Terriers this afternoon as part of a midfield three alongside Clayton and Jonathan Hogg, who turned 25 yesterday.

While Martin Paterson is still on the sidelines through the hamstring injury he picked up against Burnley a week ago, Danny Ward has recovered from the dead leg that forced him off at the Reebok Stadium in midweek and lines up alongside top scorer James Vaughan in attack.

Manchester City loanee Harry Bunn is among the substitutes for the first time this afternoon; the 21 year-old striker joins Ian Bennett, Calum Woods, Sean Scannell, Oscar Gobern, Murray Wallace and Duane Holmes.
