Hogg returns, but Vaughan misses out through injury
Mark Robins has made two changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at home to Derby County; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
On the plus side, midfielder Jonathan Hogg returns to the line-up after missing Town’s last two games with a hip injury; he replaces Oscar Gobern.
However, Robins has lost top scorer James Vaughan to injury, so his place in attack is taken by Danny Ward.
Otherwise the Terriers are unchanged from the 0-0 draw at Brighton on Saturday, which means that Robins has kept faith with Murray Wallace at centre-half after his impressive display at the Amex; Joel Lynch returns from his one match ban to take one of the substitutes’ berths.
Goalkeeper Alex Smithies skippers the side today in the absence of Vaughan in what is the 200th start of his domestic career, behind a back three of Murray Wallace, Anthony Gerrard and Tommy Smith.
Paul Dixon continues at left wing-back with Adam Hammill on the right; they flank the midfield trio of Oliver Norwood, Jonathan Hogg and Adam Clayton.
In attack, Danny Ward returns to partner Martin Paterson.
