TOWN’S TEAM vs. BOLTON

3 December 2013

Two changes to starting XI

Town Manager Mark Robins has brought Danny Ward back into the starting line-up as the Terriers return to his former club Bolton Wanderers this evening; 8pm kick-off at the Reebok Stadium.

Ward, who made two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Trotters in 2009 after graduating from their Academy, makes the 100th start of his career tonight. He replaces Martin Paterson, who misses out with a hamstring injury picked up during Saturday’s home win over Burnley.

The second change comes in midfield, where the experienced Keith Southern returns in place of the suspended Adam Clayton.

Otherwise the Terriers are unchanged and look set to continue in the 3-5-2 formation that has served them so well over the last two games.

Ever-present goalkeeper Alex Smithies starts in goal behind a back three of Joel Lynch, Anthony Gerrard and Tommy Smith, with Adam Hammill at right wing-back and Paul Dixon making his 50th Huddersfield Town appearance at left wing-back.

The incoming Keith Southern joins Jonathan Hogg and weekend goalscorer Oliver Norwood in central midfield, with Danny Ward expected to play off Captain James Vaughan in attack. Like Dixon, Vaughan is also making his 50th Huddersfield Town appearance this evening.
