Striker opens account in win
Huddersfield Town striker Jimmy Spencer scored his first goal for Scunthorpe United during their recent victory over Rochdale.
Chris Atkinson, Liam Ridehalgh and Daniel Carr have also been in action for their respective loan clubs and below is a check on how they got on.
Jimmy Spencer - Scunthorpe United
Spencer came on as a 65th minute substitute for Scunthorpe in their match away at Rochdale. He managed to notch his first ever goal for the Iron and also won a penalty in a 4-0 victory.
Spencer told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: “Personally, to get on the scoresheet for the first time was good. It’s been a long time coming. Hopefully I can get a few more now and get a little run going.”
Jimmy played 15 minutes in a 3-1 win against Torquay a week later, as Scunthorpe picked up their third win in a row.
Scunthorpe sit in fourth position in League 2 and depending on other results, could go top of the league if they beat Wycombe in their next fixture.
Chris Atkinson and Liam Ridehalgh - Tranmere Rovers
Atkinson and Ridehalgh both played 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Wolves and the same in Tranmere’s second home win of the season, when they beat Colchester 2-1.
Atkinson assisted one of Ryan Lowe’s goals with a great corner delivery as the midfielder continues to impress. Rovers suffered defeat in the FA Cup on the weekend, though, when both players played 90 minutes as Peterborough United ran out 5-0 winners.
Tranmere are 19th in League 1, just three points above the relegation zone. They face Carlisle United away in their next match.
Daniel Carr - Fleetwood Town
Daniel Carr was an unused substitute for Fleetwood in their 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley and also in the 1-1 draw with Oxford United.
He was ineligible to face Burton in the FA Cup.
